You can also create a profile and sync your settings and bookmarks across devices. The browser is virtually the same as the one available on Windows 11 and Windows 10 with support for extensions, developer tools, and core rendering behaviors. On Ubuntu and virtually any other flavor (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, and openSUSE) of Linux, you can install the Microsoft Edge browser through the Stable, Beta, and Dev Channels, and you can download and install the application using GUI or commands through the terminal.

![]() Verify that the Show Draft Snap toolbar is active. ![]() To make sure it is always there, go to the Draft Preferences, Edit → Preferences → Draft → Grid and snapping tab. The Draft Snap toolbar is normally activated when you switch to the Draft Workbench.Ģ.1. Use SelectPlane to set both the working plane and the grid, and then show and hide the grid with Toggle grid. Although it is not used in this tutorial, the Draft grid is helpful to position geometrical elements. ![]() Since the Draft objects are planar shapes, they are better viewed from the top. When changing properties, you may have to do a Std Refresh action to see the result in the 3D view. Make sure you understand how to use the property editor, particularly the Data and View tabs to change the properties. Switch to the Draft Workbench from the workbench selector, or the menu View → Workbench → Draft. Open FreeCAD, create a new empty document with File → New.ġ.1. The default unit is millimeters mm.įinal drawing including various Draft objects. This tutorial uses the notation (x, y, z) to denote the coordinates required to define points in an object. the creation of dimensions, text, and shapestrings. This tutorial is meant to introduce the reader to the basic workflow of the Draft Workbench. This tutorial was originally written by Drei, and it was rewritten and illustrated by vocx. We could not push it as far as the settings could go, we had to back off on them. However, this time these settings had plenty of headroom because we were not able to max out the video card at those settings. The highest Memory Clock we could set was 950MHz, you cannot go over this setting. The maximum Core Clock we could set was at 2150MHz, you cannot go over this setting. Similar to the Radeon RX 5700 AMD has a hard limit set on the Core Clock and Memory Clock frequencies on this reference video card. These settings are at the very fringe of what we could push. Voltage is at 1.200V, Power Limit is at +50 and Core Clock is at 2120MHz and Memory Clock at 910MHz with a forced consistent 80% fan speed. In the picture above you can see what we found as the highest stable overclock. ![]() We also noticed that raising voltage drastically raises temperatures and power. Therefore, you have to be gentle with the voltage on the Radeon RX 5700 XT, give it just enough to help, but not enough to hurt. However, pushing this above that causes the same problem as the Radeon RX 5700, it actually ends up hurting the clock speed. Because of the higher Power Limit, we could utilize a very small amount of voltage increase to 1.200V versus 1.193V to give us a slight advantage. On the Radeon RX 5700 XT we did take advantage of some slight overvoltage to obtain a very slight edge on clock speed overclocking. You can set the Power Limit to +50 on the reference Radeon RX 5700 XT video card, versus +20 on the RX 5700. However, the Power Limit can be set much higher on the Radeon RX 5700 XT. MSI Afterburner allows a maximum of 1.300V, similar to the Radeon RX 5700. ![]() In MSI Afterburner the default voltage is at “1191” which allows the default 1.193V the video card operates. Similar to the AMD Radeon RX 5700 video card, the Radeon RX 5700 XT reference video card has limitations. The other option, of course, is to just install Linux on that old hardware. Unfortunately, Chrome OS Flex has a very different use case and I would only recommend installing it if you meet the exact use case it addresses. Seems attractive to take that only Windows 7 laptop and repurpose it to run Chrome OS, especially if you can run Linux apps on it. However, Google has recently pushed out Chrome OS Flex which is meant to install on a spare laptop you might happen to have hanging around. If you have a real Chromebook, you can also use it to run certain other kinds of programs via virtualization. Like Android, Chrome OS is based on some variant of Linux, but it is targeted at the “cloud first” strategy so Chromebooks typically don’t have a huge amount of storage or compute power. You’ve probably heard about Google Chromebooks. ![]() The Flex Desktop is user-friendly and responsive |
